The Gentleman Caller
The gentleman caller came all dressed
And took the lady to the ball next door
They danced and danced with much enjoyment
And rejoiced the moonlit night with please
When the time had come to say goodbye
He produced a wedding ring and she excepted it with a
smile
The days and weeks went on and on
And the preparations bore on and on
Until the day when their wedding took place
A glorious day for them
And the moon smiled too in joy.
The moon smiled in joy to see,
A happy couple wed that eve,
It remembered the night that at the ball,
And till now the happiness lies
Deep in their hearts forever to be.
